The Spanish culture is rooted in the influences that different peoples have left after passing through the peninsula over the centuries. Besides history, geography and the presence of the surrounding seas have contributed significantly in shaping contemporary culture.Although there is a common cultural heritage to all the Spanish, the marked individuality of its regions has resulted in numerous cultural events throughout the country. These demonstrations have been reflected in all fields: art, traditions, literature, languages and dialects, music, gastronomy, etc.

The Castilian or Spanish is the language spoken by most of the Spanish, although not all do as a mother tongue.
